Terrorism and Gun Ownership

Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto supposedly said two great things about America after attacking Pearl Harbor.  “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.”  The end of the famous film Tora! Tora! Tora!  While he may have not said this quote, it was clear in other reports that he knew he could strike America and have great success, at first.  Later America would come back.  He also supposedly said, “You cannot invade the mainland United States.  There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.”  This thought is still protecting the U.S. today.

The Israelis helped us with this.  Back in the early days of terrorism, terrorist attacked the population with guns.  The Israelis chose to train and arm their citizens (even school teachers).  For years when a terrorist would fire on a crowd, all the people present would pull guns and shoot back.  It was enough of a deterrent that terrorist stopped doing it.

Talking to other terrorism experts, researching things in the past, and looking to the future, a real terrorism threat America faces is gunmen at the local mall.  No matter how much security we put in place, it could still happen.  And if we put tons of security in the Malls and/or stop going all together, the terrorist will find another place to gun people down (like a subway the way it was done in England a couple years ago).

The way we stop this is by being vigilant and allowing Americans to carry guns.  The gun carrying Americans will stop the attacks before law enforcement or the military can get there (like the Gabrielle Giffords’ shooting).

You are the first responder when a terrorist attacks America again.  Keep learning about self defense and take care of yourself and your family.  By doing this you will also be defending your country.

Stay Safe,

Ben
