Learning about self-defense with Jarrad Markel
Today:
Jarrad Markel from Student of the Gun is my guest. Jarrad is a great guy and has been working on Student of the Gun for almost 10 years, carrying a gun since he was legally able, was a professional MMA fighter for about 5 years, and started taking self-defense firearms courses when he was 16!
Jarrad has a unique place in the world since his father is Paul Markel. Paul has been a trainer and in the firearms industry for almost 30 years. Jarrad got to grow up learning and handing out with a lot of big names in the firearms and training community.
Even with those advantages, it turns out he has a bucket of holsters like the rest of use. But when it comes to holster selection, he has been using the same one for almost 10 years.
Jarrad has his own business. A consulting group where he helps other people get through the social media landscape and other things. And we talk about how much both of us like social media right now.
I asked the obvious questions about what gun and holster he carries, how he is doing with the riots across the country, and why a professional fighter carries a gun.
