You want to be truly good at self defense you have to do more than just study it. You should get in the ring if at all possible. Join a boxing gym, MMA, or BJJ gym for a couple months and go a couple rounds.

When it comes to professional security if you have to fight you have screwed up your job badly. If you are with your family, I’d say the same thing. If you have to physically fight to protect you family, you did something really wrong. Stop the attack before it happens and your family is in danger.
