Last Minute Gift Ideas

Or Things You Can Get Yourself

Tactical Pen

Here in the south, Academy and outdoors normally has them in stock or you can order my favorite from Amazon.

M-16 Pocket Knife

This is the knife I carry, but any good pocketknife is a great gift.  Anything from CRKT, Cold Steel, Smith and Wesson, or Spyderco would make a great gift.

Flashlights

Anything from SureFire, 511 Tactical, or Stream Light would make a great gift.  The best place to buy them on line is LaPoliceGear.com.  The light I want is the new SureFire E2 Defender.

Batteries

Just because you can never have enough batteries.  Surefire seems to have a good price on the batteries and I’ve used them a lot.  They’ve always worked for me.  The problem the 3v batteries is they are expensive.  Don’t buy them 2 at a time, they are about $4 each, if you buy them 12 or more you can get them for $2 each or less.

Gerber Multi Tool

I had one of these forever and loved it.  I used it to break steel bands off ammo cases, cut through chain link fence and just abused the crap out of it and they never broke.  I had the same one for over a decade before I replaced it.

Ammo

You can never have too much ammo.  I order it in bulk from LuckyGunner.com and SGAmmo.com.

Merry Christmas and Stay Safe,

Ben

  1. Ben, first I am a big fan of your blog and podcasts! I found you through Bob’s podcast.

As far as cr123 batteries go, I buy them from battery junction online. Their brand is like $12 for a 12 pack and they last just as long as the surefire ones for me. I have no affiliation with them just hate seeing people pay more than they have to.

    1. Thanks for the tip Mike!

I’m going to check it out. I just learned that the CR123 batteries from Surefire, Energizer, Duracell, and Panasonic are all made in the same Panasonic factory and then have a different label put on them. I’m pretty sure they are making others too.
