Christmas Spending

Tis the season to spend too much.

Believe it or not your financial wellbeing has a lot to do with your physical safety and quality of life.  The amount you make isn’t as important as the amount you spend.

Christmas is that most special time of year.  The time we all spend more money then we make to give gifts to people we hardly know but call family and friends.

Here are a couple ideas to keep your finances safe during Christmas:

  • Use cash for gifts.  Get the amount of money you want to spend for Christmas from the bank.  Once that is gone stop spending
  • Make a list of people you want to give gifts to, from most important to least, then start at the top and work your way down (when you are out of money you stop).
  • Make a card or write a note instead of buying junk.
  • Buy stuff used.
  • Bargain for everything.

Just remember, no amount of money you spend on gifts is going to make the holidays merrier.

Stay Safe,

Ben
