I took Ben’s Defensive AR class this past May….what a great class! The class exceeded my expectations, specifically on the moving and shooting portion of the class. The pace was just about right and I feel I was able to work on all the skills I assumed I needed. I left class feeling much more skilled and empowered with my AR. I expect my IDPA scores to improve and have already purchased some dummy rounds to practice the failure drills we were taught. While Ben took the time to review AR and peripheral AR gear with us his message was not to worry if you don’t have the best wiz bang gear on the market but instead to practice and be the best with what you have. He even brought his inventory of tactical vests, bandoleers and mag pouches to let us try on and review what works well and what does not. The class environment was quite nice as well, we had an entire section of the shooting range to ourselves. For the money I don’t see how this class could be beat. My concern with all previous classes I looked at in the Austin area, especially in the same price point, was that the topics and skills they covered were too basic, Ben’s defensive AR syllabus was exactly what I was looking for and the practical class time did not disappoint.
