Beyond Concealed Carry 1 Day
Overview:
Learn how to protect yourself, gain the confidence to win if the worst happens to you, have a great time with great people, and do it in less time then most.
Bob and I created this course to get you up and into the fight with a high probability of winning in less then a day. Most courses take a week to do what we will squeeze into only one day.
By the end of the day you will have the mindset and skills to win almost any gun fight!
And you will have a great time doing it!
This is a 8 hour course designed for the Concealed Carrier or someone more advanced than a beginner. We start with the basics of handgun safety and marksmanship and quickly progress to some basic dynamic movement and defensive scenarios, like shooting from cover, moving and shooting, advancing and retreating, defending hallways, one handed shooting, shooting around barricades, proper use of cover, shooting steel on the move, the art of making hits quickly out of the holster and more. The course covers the best knowledge of 20 years of studying gun fighting. The first half of the day you will learn how to run your gun. The second half of the day you will learn how to fight with the gun.
What we teach:
- Real World Safety
- Drawing quickly and efficiently from a holster during a fight
- Proper trigger control to make accurate shots
- Malfunction clearing
- Reloading under stress
- Making fast hits
- Learning to fight at close distances
- Shooting while moving so you don’t get shot
- Long Range Marksmanship
- And more
More Information:
This is an intermediate level course designed for you.
Everything starts with a safety brief. It’s a 24/7 mindset that is as applicable on the range as it is a gun fight or during administratively handling your gun.
The beginning of the course will make sure you have the basics to shooting the gun. If you are an advanced shooter, this will be a great review. If you just know the basics of shooting this part of the day will sharpen your skills and learn to draw the gun to fight with.
Once your shooting is dialed in, you will learn how to keep the gun running through a fight.
How can you reload under stress and is it necessary? So why do we teach it.
Malfunctions are a probable in lots of gun fights. You’ll learn how to get your gun back in the fight quickly for any and all fixable malfunctions. In our system there is no diagnostics, no figuring out what happened, just a linear system that will fix your gun or tell you it is broken and you need to do something else. The one you learn can all be done under stress.
Once you can get the gun out and keep it running, you’ll learn to shoot fast and accurately at realistic distances. As you learn to shoot the targets fast and accurately you will learn why we shoot what we shoot and where with a bunch of theory and real world experience mixed in. Plus a bunch of the why and history that a lot of modern techniques came from.
You will learn what actually stops a fight and how you can accomplish that.
We will have a working lunch. During the break we will discuss legal issues of using your gun; when and how you can defend yourself legally. We will also talk about the mindset that is necessary to win any fight.
You will get my mindset from being in 11 gunfights and spending years in a war zone. I break it down to three simple things you can understand and make happen in your life everyday.
The legal brief is quick and easy, but with the intention for you to understand the legal ramifications of deadly force and when it can and can not be applied.
After lunch you will learn the most important thing ever, how not to get shot. Moving targets are hard to hit.
You will learn how to shoot and move at the same time. It’s not as tough as you may think or others say it is.
You will start at the beginning and you will learn it one step at a time. By the end of the day you will be running and gunning faster then you ever thought possible.
We start with moving forward and backward so you can gain confidence, learn some extra safety guidelines, and learn to work with a group and a partner.
Once you get that under control we will go to a modified draw and learn to shoot moving left and right.
Once you get the technique we will work it faster and faster. By the end of the day you will be running and gunning faster then you ever thought possible.
Don’t worry about not being in great shape, if you can walk up and down the range for the day, you can move well enough to take this class.
We will end the day working on some long range marksmanship.
You’ll be surprised as to what your pistol and you can do. You’ll see how realistic and effective a handgun can be at distances most people don’t think is possible. But you will be able to do longer then you think right now.
Myself and Bob will be available for questions and extra time at the end.
We also like to go out to a local restaurant after with everyone. So if you would like to make this part of the day, you should be prepared after the class is over to go eat dinner.
What You’ll Need:
- Serviceable handgun in .380 or larger.
9mm compact to full sized autos are recommended
.22s and revolvers are allowed
We encourage you shoot what you carry - At least 3 Magazines or speed loaders for your gun.
If you are shooting a single stack gun or revolver 5 is a better number - A proper belt worn holster for your specific make/model of pistol.
Those manufactured by Concealment Solutions, Comp-Tac, Bladetech and Dale Fricke are recommended.
NO BLACKHAWK SERPA HOLSTERS they have contributed to multiple accidents over the years and we don’t want any part of someone accidentally shooting themselves. - Belt Worn Magazine carrier or speedloaders (ammo in your pocket will not be fast enough for this class)
- Long Pants or shorts with belt loops
- A sturdy Belt which can hold the weight of your holstered gun and spare magazines. One designed for carrying a gun are the best
- Sturdy footwear – Hiking boots, outdoor shoes, etc…
no open toed footwear is allowed on the range - We recommend as much bare skin as possible be covered up,
long sleeves and a high collared shirt are recommended.
Flying brass goes everywhere and it’s hot when it lands on bare skin - Eye and Ear protection as well as a baseball cap or brimmed hat are required all the time
- 300 Rounds of factory ammo.
We do not allow home reloads in our courses. You don’t want to be fighting your ammo in the course, use something you know will work - Back up guns are recommended in case your chosen gun breaks
- Whatever medications, liquids, food, band aids, sun screen, etc., you’ll need for the entire day.
The range is very remote and there will not be time to get something from the store - You will also need a box, gun case, or container of some sort to transport your gun from the car to the firing line. If you carry your gun on your person, no problem, you will be given time to switch everything you need.
- What we don’t want: ANY GUNS to be out of containers or holsters anywhere behind the firing line. Leave your gun in the holster or case when you arrive at class and we will all gear up for the class together, on the firing line, and the safest manner possible.
I look forward to training with you and having a boat load of fun!
