Last week, like most weeks, lots of things happened. Stay safe with some knowledge you might have missed.
Grand Jury Indictments in Harris County for “No Knock” Raid that left 2 Home Owners Dead
This was a horrible death of 2 homeowners. That sure looked like a lot of malpractice by the police officers involved from day one. I’ve been watching this case and it only gets worse for the officers.
It appears that one of the officers falsified evidence to get a no knock warrant and then executed it on a house that shouldn’t have been hit. The home owners thought someone was attacking their house and tried to defend themselves. In the end one police officer was shot and both home owners are dead. On top of that it appears that the cops messed with and planted evidence to hide what happened.
Horrible.

The Biggest M4 Myth: Fouling Caused by the DI Gas System makes the M4 Unreliable
I’ve always seen this as a non issue. The more carbon that builds up it makes a seal, and then the pressure going through the system blows the rest that isn’t used out.
I normally see rifles with too much lube creating problems. Lube is wet, it attracts and holds dirt and fouling from carbon that would otherwise blow off. Lube acts as a solvent so if you keep a ton of it on the rifle it will always work. The problem is when a little gets worn off and the dirt is left. It’s like having water with a bunch of stuff in it. The water evaporates and leaves the rest of the crap (hard water deposits) on everything.
This article the shooter goes over 2,400 rounds with no lube on the gun without a malfunction. What are we asking for in a rifle for reliability?
Can You Have a Big Enough Rifle?
Is there a big enough rifle to stop a charging Rhino? I’m glad I wasn’t in this car and makes me not want to do any drive-through preserve to see the animals.
