Weekly After Action Report for things you may have missed last week.
Last week, like most weeks, lots of things happened. Stay safe with some knowledge you might have missed.
Because Life Can’t Always be Serious
I was a 60mm Mortar Man in the US Marine Corps for almost six years. I loved the weapon systems and think it’s one of the greatest weapon systems on the battle field. Most commanders and leaders in the Marine Corps have no idea how to employ it or what its capabilities are. So it is a dying weapon.
But I love it. I studied it and worked with it every chance I got. Learned everything it could do and we pushed what the books said wasn’t possible.
Now I think I should get one of these to play with the kid. Just so we can have fun together shooting in the back yard. It’s bigger and might be better then a bb gun.
Springfield Armory Hellcat Subcompact 9mm
In case you missed the “big announcement” from Springfield, they have another pistol to sell you.
The Hellcat is about the same size as a Glock 43 or Sig P365 but holds 11 or 13 rounds depending on what magazine you use (above with extended mag).
It’s interesting because it is another choice of small sub-compact almost single stack sized guns on the market that will be easy to carry and have extra ammo on board.
I think they will sell like crazy. I would love to try one, but will be waiting until they get the quarks out before I buy one to carry for my self defense gun.
The Price of Freedom: Audie Murphy
The price of freedom will always be too high to calculate.
But when young men (and now women) are asked to pay that price, they will go out and under extraordinary circumstances will do unfathomable heroic things to defend our freedom.
These people are still among us. Just let us not forget those who have gone before us. But also, let us hope that this kind of bravery will not be required of young people again. I know it will, but peace is always something to strive for.
Read Lt. Murphy’s Medal of Honor Citation and tell me he wasn’t heroic beyond anything you’ve ever thought of.
He did many things like that throughout his fight in WWII. Audie Murphy is one of those celebrated heroes of the Army. After reading this one citation, you can see why.
Watch the video. This is a win for the home owner.
Now watch it again. What could you do to keep this from happening to you? Could you do something well before the attack to keep this person from coming into your house and to keep you from having to shoot someone.
Just because it’s the cool modern version of a Tommy Gun in a violin case.
I have no real use for it, but I want one because it just looks really cool.
And Sometimes, because it’s cool is reason enough. Thought you’d enjoy looking at it.
