From the Podcast 184 Home Defense – The Bump in the Night, I talked about two lighting solutions that could help you defend your home.
The first one is an outside light I just ordered. They come in a twin pack and can be put anywhere there is sun. They are solar charged and have the battery, solar panel, and LED lights all in one. I heard about them on The Survival Podcast and you can find his write up on them here.
I read the reviews and looked at the description, for $35 dollars it’s a no brainer. If you try them and they don’t work, you aren’t out much. I think they are going to work awesome and will be putting them up next week (hopefully… as long as they come in-time).

Second is this set of plugs. I’m thinking of ordering a pack to just set up some lights that are on these plugs to use in an emergency. If you use your imagination you can find a thousand different ways to set up lighting around your house that you could use to see where you are not. You could even set up some lights outside. Then with one remote, you could control your lights in your house.
I was thinking to set lights numbered with the furthest one being #1 on the remote and then others that are closer to me. It would take a little practice but it would give you a great look into your house without having to run through your house with a flashlight. And if lights start going on in the house, bad guys will know that someone is in that room with the light on… except that you won’t be. That will give you an advantage that you may need.
