Week After Action Report of what you might have missed last week.
Here are a couple things you may have missed last week.
Here’s a little history if the 6.8 and what happened 20 years ago.
The first half of the article is about the round, the second half is about an LWRC gun.
As Jeff Cooper said years ago, only accurate guns are interesting. But the Army is still looking for a 6.8 something to replace the 5.56.
Here is recoil!
The Finnish “Elephant Gun” designed in 1939 as an anti-tank gun.
It fires a 20mm projectile weighing 1,850 grains at about 2,800 feet per second creating around 32,000 foot-pounds of energy!
Would you fire one?
Atlanta Blue Flu and the Ferguson Effect
Here comes the Ferguson Effect for law enforcement.
This was a problem way before the Ferguson debacle but now has a name.
If you towns police for e has low moral for whatever reason (most common reason is politicians and top brass don’t support them) the crime rate will go up because police will stop doing good proactive police work and just sit around. When criminals go unchecked they go on crime sprees.
Atlanta PD looks to be having problems with the blue flue and getting support from outside agencies.
Using Sights in a Defensive Situation
Good thoughts on training for a fight.
Spoiler: train like you fight.
SCOTUS Refuses 2nd Amendment Cases
Does this surprise anyone?
SCOTUS refuses to hear gun cases.
I wish there wasn’t politics going on inside the Supreme Court. Seems really wrong to me. Maybe its proof politics is everywhere?
Written well from a foreign spec ops guy that has been there and done that.
He has a lot of the same thoughts I do about self-defense and put it into a book well.
Most of the book is about staying away from danger and how to avoid it.
When it comes to professional security if you have to fight you have screwed up your job badly. If you are with your family, I’d say the same thing. If you have to physically fight to protect you family, you did something really wrong. Stop the attack before it happens and your family is in danger.
