Hi Ben! I love it that Glock FINALLY has a .22 – I just hope the damn thing will work as well as their centerfires! I’d love to get it. The LCP .22 also interests me as a possible NY reload and as a trainer for my MC1; I’ll see…
Speaking of a backpack carbine, I recently got one – a JR Carbine Takedown in 10mm. Only shot it a little bit but it’s impressive. Shot a tight group at 25yds with Hornady 180 XTP’s. From my research, the 10mm gains 250 fps out of a carbine. According to Hornady’s ballistic calculator, the 180 from a carbine has energy and velocity at 100 yds similar to pistol muzzle ballistics! Check this: the 180gr. at 75 yds has 1,100fps and 500 ft-bs, which is its far-limit for big game. Okay, from the carbine those numbers are now at 150 yds! An auto-pistol cartridge! Wow! I seriously think a 10mm carbine is like a .41 Mag with a 12in. barrel! So that’s on paper, but I suppose the reality will be similar. I did a water jug test comparing it with my G20SF. The 180 XTP out of the Glock made a decent splash, tossed the jug about 2 feet and tore it a bit. Same load out of the JRC made a big splash, launched the jug maybe 8 feet and shredded it pretty badly! 🙂 🙂 🙂 I call it the “10mm Magnum”! I have more scientific testing to do to see how the carbine performs. Oh, and ETS makes inexpensive 30-shot mags for the G20! 🙂
I’ve seen the JR carbines… didn’t know they made a break down. I’ll have to look into that.
Yes the 10mm is very impressive out of a longer barrel. Almost makes me want to go to one… I just want simple easy with everything on the 9mm. But now you got me thinking of a lever gun in 10mm as a deer hunting rifle could be pretty cool.
I’m thinking of getting the little Ruger LCR 22 to try.

Thanks for the information. That was my fault, and it’s up now. Thank you for letting me know.
