Another piece of information out of the Parkland Shooting no one would expect
It seems the shooter used 5 round magazines in his AR style rifle to murder 17 high school students while Police sat outside and waited to see what was going on. I think there will be lots of horrible things coming out in the report on the shooting. Stuff none of us want to own up to and especially police, fire, and other emergency personnel aren’t going to want to hear. Kinds of things that will probably hunt the survivors for years to come. This entire thing continues to sadden me, and I hope I’m not right and this is the last horrible thing that comes out about this tragedy.
Back in 1998 I pledged everything for this country, and in 2002 and 2003 they asked for it. I gave up 2002 to be on strip alert for a terrorist attack, and as soon as I was relieved of that duty I was asked to go to Iraq in 2003. We were told we would invade, we would win, we don’t know what the cost will be or what the length of time you will be gone. I believed in something and was asked to sacrifice everything for years. I sacrificed my freedom, my honor, my family, my friends, and gave everything but my life. And that was out of sure luck as many times as it was out of skill that I survived to come back to the world.
Sacrifice everything by taking a knee during the National Anthem is hardly giving up anything. In fact, he is making a lot of money from that act. And that’s fine. We live in a free country, but to say you sacrificed everything is a load of bull $%^& and you can stick it where the sun don’t shine. I have bought my last Nike product.
What he is “believing in” annoys me and we could have a discussion about it, but he didn’t sacrifice anything to believe in it. There are so many that have sacrificed way more than I did, for way longer, this is insulting.

Sounds like the Army might be able to survive that kind of equipment loss.

Most Research is Flawed to a point, but some is out right deceiving on purpose
Most research these days on school shootings is completely bogus. We can’t even give a written definition of what should and should not be a mass school shooting. So every study that comes out makes up its own definition up so it can create as many school shooting as it wants and that includes government studies.
This time is was the Department of Education trying to make a lot more shooting then actually happened. When NPR went down the list and called schools to get information about the shooting that happened there, most said they hasn’t been a shooting on the school. Dep of Ed said there was almost 240 school shootings in 2015-2016 school year. When NPR went down the list, NPR said two thirds of those never happened. That sounds like an outright lie and not a mistake. I wonder why they would lie about that? Could it be they want more money to “protect the kids.” As if half a trillion dollars a year isn’t enough.
