You carry a gun every day, all the time right? When you do it is your responsibility to keep yourself and others safe from your gun. That includes police officers. When you interact with police neither one of you should be in danger. But how do you
Police officers have been trained for decades that only bad guys and police have guns. That is starting to change, but until it becomes common place in your area, you have to protect yourself.
This video talks about how to deal with police when carrying a firearm legally.
Spoiler: If you act like a professional you will probably be treated like one.
Stay Safe,
I have been “contacted” by police regarding carrying on one occasion..if you want to call it that. I was openly carrying in a ~$200.00 holster, and at some point I heard a voice from behind saying “Hey, nice holster man. What is that, a Glock?” When I turned around, I realized it was a deputy sheriff. We had a friendly conversation for <5 minutes, and parted ways amicably. At no point did he examine my weapon, disarm me or request an ID, although it was certainly his right to do so any/all of the above.
Glad to see people making common sense videos like this. It really helps us civilians to learn the law and what is expected of us.
