What do you do when you can’t carry a weapon? You do normally carry some kind of self defense weapon? Don’t you? I carry lots of them everyday, but I had to go to Jury Duty this last week and couldn’t carry anything. What do you do then? Here’s some tips:
Have a Plan and use your awareness
- Know as Much as possible
- Evaluate your risks by where you are going
- Map Study
- Drive By
- Downtown areas suck
- Get your bearing
- Evac plan
- Where to leave stuff
- not in car
- hidden
- Getting to and from
- left guns, carried knives
- Make choice before you leave
- Getting through security
- No security no worries
- Respectful
- You don’t know what they know and they can help you or not
- Friend was able to keep his knife and get through TSA and help his wife and kid onto a plane.
- Know the prohibited items before hand if possible
- Don’t try and smuggle weapons
- Hide them in plain site
- Flashlight
- Pen
- Pepper spray
- Taser
- Inside
- Orientate yourself
- Exits
- Which way is your car?
- Which doors have alarms on them
- What floor are you on?
- Windows?
- Common areas
- No admittance areas
- Doors that are locked
- Security visible
- Evaluate them
- What is their primary job
- Plan your escape every time you move
- Watch people/awareness
