Fear comes to everyone. Overcoming fear is not the lack of fear, but achieving what must be done in spite of fear. I’ve found two ways to overcome fear. Have a plan and focus.
Formulating a plan requires afore thought. Think realistically through what you would do in the worst case plausible. How would you escape? Where would you go? Who would you call?
Then focus on what must be done. When you focus on doing something then there is no room for fear. As you move through things fear will subside and you can finish what needs to be done.
If fear grips you, do something, and then focus on what you are doing. When you sit and think about being afraid, it will make you more and more afraid. If you hear something go bump in the night, call the cops, turn on the lights, investigate, call a friend for help, or something. If you just sit there, things will never get better.
Stay Safe,
Ben
Simple and obvious things to do when fear strikes but how many of us are prepared for it. Thanks for letting us know that we can overcome fear 🙂
