Today:  The new Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 was announced at SHOT Show in January of this year.  From Smith’s web site “…the M&P M2.0 delivers an entirely new platform, introducing innovative features in nearly every aspect of the pistol, including trigger, grip, frame, and finish. Not sure that is the case, but it is pretty cool.

This podcast compares the old M&P I’ve carried and used for almost 5 years now to the new (and improved?) M&P 2.0.  While Smith says it’s an entirely new platform I found that not to be entirely true.  They redesigned the trigger but kept the same slide configuration.  In fact I put the old slide on the new gun and it appears to work just fine.

Listen to the podcast to get a complete comparison of the M&P and the M&P 2.0.  Is the 2.0 better and/or worth replacing your old gun for? Listen to the complete M&P 2.0 Review.
