We all use gun lube for different things.  I use CLP, normally Breekfree or Kleen Bore.  I’m testing Frog Lube CLP to see what all the rage is about.

Check out the post on the Preservative part of the Frog Lube CLP Review here.

I also had Bob Mayne of the Handgun World Podcast on to talk a out what Lubes he uses on his guns.

  1. I enjoyed all of your podcast thus far, very well done. However, I believe you skipped over a very good lub, Ballistol. Many of us blackpowder guys use it for out muzzle loaders for our other guns.

You should give it a try, if you can find it in your area. To be honest it is hard to find, but if you have a muzzle loader gun shop they should carry it.

    1. Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll look into that. I’m currently rapping up a test on another lube right now. Then I guess I’ll have to try some. Thanks for listening.

  2. Ben,
Another informative podcast. Your observations and recommendations regarding lube were very helpful. Gun lubes are often overlooked but are so important to keep your guns running. I use Breakfree for most of my guns. The really picky ones get Militec. Got some Froglube samples to try out later.

    Thanks,
    Kin

    1. Thanks for listening Kin! Why Militec on the picky guns? Does it work longer or just better? I’m always looking for a field report from someone that is using the stuff.
